Well, if one considers Mariah Carey’s tacky attempt at Jackson’s own 1970’s hit, ‘I’ll Be There’, failing to find those top notes that Jackson found with such ease, or Usher’s ghoulish touching of Jackson’s gold casket, (that we were led to believe was occupied by Jackson’s body), as any accolade to The King of Pop, then by comparison, Princess Diana wins hands down!

Once again, the paps have got it all wrong about Paris Hilton, or so she says.

With reports that Miss Hilton, and her latest squeeze, Doug Reinhardt, were thrown off the yacht belonging to Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, due to over salacious behaviour, Paris quickly went into denial mode and told any decent reporter willing to print the truth, ‘I don’t know where they come up with these stories. That never happened. I was on my friend’s yacht and danced and had a great time. So wrong that people would make up such a trash story.”

 When Princess Diana died in August 1997, her funeral was attended by the veteran singer/songwriter, Sir Elton John who sang his re-hashed version of Candle in the Wind, especially put together for the Princess’s funeral which was carried out in a tasteful manner.

But they are going head to head in one of the most powerful musical duets in recent times. The venue? The annual John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party this Sunday.

The musical powerhouse couple will join together on stage for a duet in an effort to raise awareness for the vital funds required for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
