David Beckham has joined forces with British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown in a campaign to stamp out knife violence on the streets of the UK.

The world of movie and television was stunned today with the sad news that Isle of Wight born, Anthony Minghella had passed away after an operation at Charing Cross Hospital, London.

The Oscar winning film maker died of a hemorrhage at 5 a.m. Tuesday just a week after an operation to remove a growth from his neck.
