Amy Adams & Meryl Streep Swap the Convent for the Kitchen!

From the convent to the kitchen, the dynamic duo of last years blockbuster movie, Doubt, have teamed up once again, this time exchanging their habits for aprons.

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams who made the Broadway show, Doubt, into such a huge box office hit have now turned their talents from the dark and dismal world of the convent to the comedic world of cooking as they both portray real life characters in the movie Julie & Julia.

Recession Proof Oscars Thanks to Hugh Jackman

For some reason better know to the voters of the Academy Awards, Slumdog Millionaire won and Oscar in just about every category in which it was nominated, totaling 8 little gold men. It would appear that this is the movie version of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Could it be that no one actually wants to admit that it’s a cruel movie that merely demonstrates the degradation suffered by the children of Mumbai for fear of being ridiculed.

But one category where no Oscar was awarded but had an outright winner on the night was that of choice of presenter, read more ....

Mamma Mia Makes Meryl Streep High!

Are the Brits easily entertained? Do the Brits consider ABBA as their own? Is the economy so bad that escapism is rife?


These can be the only reasons for this summer’s blockbuster movie Mamma Mia being heralded as the UK’s largest grossing movie of all time. Yes, the sickly sweet, predictable story line of the movie based on the Broadway hit musical Mamma Mia has only marginally missed outselling Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s Titanic, to date but is destined to outsell it at the box office in the next few weeks.
