The man who gave us hips that wriggled sexier than Tom Jones, more smoldering looks than Sean Connery and a hope that there really is an after life in Ghost, is apparently now approaching the end of his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Despite Patrick Swayze’s constant fight against the disease and his positive attitude throughout his treatment, it now appears that Swayze is about to take his last stand against the cancer which has now spread to his liver and is reported to be close to ending the life of the Dirty Dancing actor.

Mariah Carey is planning to cross the boarder. To Canada!

But its only for a brief period as she’s set to perform at the Canadian Idol finale on September 10^th 2008. She’ll also be timing her appearance to coincide with the Toronto Film Festival which begins on September 4^th 2008.

Mariah, the Touch My Body singer, will crown this season’s winner of Canadian Idol and follows in the footsteps of other legendary singers who have appeared don the this season’s show including Tom Jones, Gwen Stefani and Canadian born rocker, Bryan Adams.
