Jade Goody: A Candle in the Wind, or Maybe On Ebay?

Posted under Free for All UK & Princess Diana & Elton John & jade goody

jade 2.jpg When Princess Diana died in August 1997, her funeral was attended by the veteran singer/songwriter, Sir Elton John who sang his re-hashed version of Candle in the Wind, especially put together for the Princess’s funeral which was carried out in a tasteful manner.candles.jpg

But for the recently deceased Jade Goody there will no sad lament about a candle in the wind, but there will be candles. Yes, special limited edition candles have been made for Jade’s funeral service which will be held this Saturday, and with the permission of her family, each cream candle will feature a picture of Jade and will be etched with the words ‘An ordinary Woman, an extraordinary life.’

Jade had expressed a desire to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds, but we’re pretty sure, being stuck on the side of a tacky wax candle would have horrified the Big Brother star.

The candles which have been made by yet another company capitalizing on Jade’s death, Candles By Laurence, are selling the £4.99 candles to the public with what they say is ‘some of the profits’ going to a cancer charity.

We wonder just how much will go to charity and how much will go to Mr Laurence himself?

Jade’s funeral is rapidly turning into a 3 ring circus with the funeral directors, FA Albin & Sons, garnering as much publicity as possible by announcing they will be donating the payment they receive for the £25,000 funeral to the two son’s that Jade has left behind, Freddie and Bobby.

Thankfully Jade’s sons will be miles away from the fiasco this Saturday as their father, Jeff Brazier, takes the boys off to Australia to escape the media frenzy.

Bet we see these candles up for bids on Ebay by Saturday night!
