While Presidential hopefuls in the United States, Barack Obama and John McCain debate the big oil issue it would appear that the UK’s ‘King hopeful‘, has found the answer to the world’s oil crisis.

Prince Charles has had his DB6 Volante Aston Martin, normally a huge gas guzzler, converted to run on surplus plonk. It now runs on bioethanol extracted from local vineyards at a cost of £1.10 per litre. Maybe someone should tell Princey that the cost is much the same as gas (petrol) and harder to come by for the minions of the UK.

Nice thought anyway, Charles, but like the throne, its possibly only an option that is open to you as most people in the UK prefer to drink their wine in an effort to forget about the cost of petrol!

What’s more, all the Prince’s other cars, Jaguars, Audi and a Range Rover have also been converted to run on used cooking fat.
