So it’s true! Sex sells!
If the figures for the sale of the TV series, turned movie, turned DVD, Sex and the City are to be believed.
The popular HBO TV series of the same name, which starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davies, was released as a blockbuster movie earlier this year and has now sold close to 1 million copies in the first week of its release as a DVD.
This now sees the DVD being included on the Official Charts Company list of sales with SATC being the highest selling DVD this year, selling 920,000 copies since September 22nd beating Ratatouille, which sold more than 700,000 in its first week.
Titanic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, is the fastest-selling DVD/video when it was released 14 years ago, having sold 2.3 million copies in its first week.
