The British born actress, who now considers herself Australian, has been involved in a fender bender while driving on Hollywood’s La Brea Avenue, as her black Ford Prius was in collision with an SUV Explorer.

Actress, Monk, was visibly shaken as she was helped clear of the wreckage by paramedics who were immediately called to the scene along with fire fighters. Monk was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

Following the accident both vehicles involved in the crash were towed away.

Sophie, 29, who now hails from Queensland, Australia, appeared in Click with Adam Sandler, Date Movie with Carmen Electra and Marilyn Monroe in the high-budget telemovie The Mystery Of Natalie Wood in 2004.

Sophie became a hot commodity with the tabloids when she began dating Jude Law and Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden. She got engaged to Madden but the couple split before the wedding. More recently she also dated American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest in 2008.
