Susan Boyle won the hearts, love and respect of the British public just two weeks ago when she went through to the semi finals of the reality TV show, Britain’s Got Talent, with a performance that we saw both Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan with looks of disbelief on their faces.

This overweight, frumpy, unkempt, middle aged woman, who had happily shared with the audience the fact that she’d ‘never been kissed’, brought the house down with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from the hit stage musical, Les Miserable, and went on to promise that fame wouldn’t make her change, saying, ‘why should I change?’ And yet, this week we have witnessed, not quite a butterfly emerging from a pupa, more a reincarnation of British comedian, Les Dawson.

With her newly colored hair, and her, albeit, bad application of foundation, newly plucked and raised eye brows, faux leather jacket and flowery frock, doesn’t Miss Boyle just conjure up one of the busty gossip mongering women from Dawson’s repertoire?
